Northern Patagonia Fishing Club Hosted Trip - January 10-20, 2019

7 Nights / 6 Days Fishing   $ 4,950 + Travel and Misc

In extreme northern Patagonia lies a boutique fishing experience reminiscent of the old days.  Join John Erskine for an awesome hosted week of fishing in Argentina with Northern Patagonia Fishing Club. Blessed with a multitude of unpressured waters, the Northern Patagonia Fishing Club was designed as a unique alternative to the hustle and bustle of typical commercialized fishing lodges. Fishing focuses on classic rainbow and brown trout fishing in pristine environments. Lodging is on a private estancia which is central to several different rivers and streams. You will enjoy authentic home cooked Argentine cuisine and local fine wine at the estancia. This program offers a broad variety of fishing scenarios to suit all types of skill levels and preferences and an authentic cultural Patagonian experience.

Trip details:

  • 6 days full guided fishing, 7 nights lodging in Alumine, Northern Patagonia, Argentina

  • With travel, the trip dates are January 10-20, 2019 with fishing dates Jan 12-19. We travel through Buenos Aires, so it is common to add days before or after to spend time in BA, but the dates as listed are the minimum.

  • We will stay on a private estancia outside Alumine, and they provide gourmet home cooked authentic Argentine culinary experience. Let’s talk about home made empanadas and asado like you’ve never experienced before…

  • We have access to fish 6-9 different rivers within range of the estancia and use only the best local guides who are bi-lingual. We can float or wade depending on angler preferences and fishing conditions.

  • The fishing is generally dry fly fishing for wild rainbow or brown trout. Typical rigs might be a big dry with a small dropper, or mid-sized Adams style dry fly. Typically fishing a floating line on 4 or 5 weight rod is great.

  • It will be mid-summer in this region, so chances are good that we'll wet wade as conditions permit. But waders and a jacket are recommended for the occasional cold front or cool mornings or evenings at the estancia. Good wading boots are a must, and should be sized to be worn with or without waders as appropriate.

  • The outfitter portion of the trip is $4,950 and includes fishing, lodging, meals, wine and transfer to and from the airport in San Martin de los Andes. Guide and house gratuity would be extra at the discretion of the client.

  • Additional costs would include airfare to Buenos Aires, hotel stay in BA, and domestic airfare from BA to San Martin de Los Andes.
