John Erskine
John Erskine has been a fanatical fisherman for 30 years and has chased this passion around the world. He’s fished above the Artic Circle, in Chilean Fjords, the Bolivian Jungle, and countless fresh and salty destinations everywhere. Fishing in foreign countries is great, but exploring off the beaten path close to home is just as rewarding. After 25 years of fly fishing exclusively, John has branched out to include other techniques in his arsenal and can be found applying many of those back to his fly fishing strategies on Texas rivers.
John is an avid ultra-marathon paddler and boat builder, a multiple time Texas Water Safari finisher, and a dedicated naturalist. John’s favorite way to guide is to fish two in a canoe in otherwise inaccessible stretches of river. This opens up hundreds of miles of unpopulated water to fishing within a few hours of downtown Austin. If you like adventure fishing, this is for you.
When fishing for fun John loves to sight fish for carp and loves paddling his canoe on remote water to catch big bass and other freshwater species.
