Growing up on Texas rivers has been a way of life for Shea. He grew up fishing most of these rivers with his family out of an aluminum canoe. This upbringing influenced Shea and is the reason he continues to guide today. Shea McClanahan brings 30 years of Texas river knowledge to his guide service.
Patience is the trait most people say is his best attribute. He understands that fishing with any type of equipment, fly rod, spinning gear or bait casting does not come naturally but can become comfortable within a days trip. Shea feels people should have the opportunity to try different types of equipment until they find the tool that works best for the fish they're after. He strongly feels the most important part of a guided trip is to catch fish and enjoy these spectacular resources.
Shea is married to Lee Ann Ford McClanahan of Austin with children Tilly, Molli, and Avery.
