'Loco Trash Bash' Details:

  • 7 AM to 3 PM; come for the whole day, or just for a few hours; Bring your own water and sun protection. Water shoes, bug REPELLENT and long pants are suggested!

  • Cleanup along banks on foot, or float in your kayak or canoe, or get a ride upriver in a jet boat to islands and sand bars along the river 

  • Four (4) meeting points; choose the best for you:

    • 973 bridge

      • Easiest to pick up trash on foot along banks, best for kids
      • Jarvis SUP's will have some boards to borrow
      • Put in at 973 bridge and float down to Austin's Colony 
      • Or, put in at Texas River School and float down to 973 bridge
      • Texas Disposal Systems dumpster for trash
      • Section Leaders are John Erskine (jerskine@gmail.com) and Tommy Jacoby (tommy.jacoby@gmail.com) 
    • Austin's Colony Neighborhood Park

      • Clean up trash on foot along dirt cliffs
      • Or, jet boat can give you a ride a little ways up or down the river
      • More physically demanding to access river, but LOTS of trash
      • TPWD trailer for trash collection

    • Little Webberville Park

      • Put in here and float to Big Webberville Park (4.5 miles)
      • Jet boat put in
      • Adults can catch a ride in a jet boat upriver to cleanup islands and sandbars along river
      • Texas Disposal Systems dumpster for trash

    • Big Webberville Park

      • Travis County maintains this park so it is not necessary to clean up on foot here
      • Trash from the Little Webberville to Big Webberville stretch will brought to Big Webberville 
      • Texas Disposal Systems dumpster for trash
      • Section Leaders are: Shea McClanahan (sheam8@gmail.com) and Kevin Hutchinson (fishhead@texas.net)
  • Arrive whenever you can, meet section leaders to sign waiver, get bracelet, and receive $10 gift certificate from Whole Earth. Section leader will provide trash grabbers, trash bags, and directions

  • We have over 500 trash bags and 50 trash grabbers, bring your own trash grabber to make sure you have one
