2nd Annual Loco Trash Bash Details:

  • Saturday, May 11, 7 AM to 3 PM;  come for the whole day, or just for a few hours!

  • Cleanup along banks on foot, or float in your kayak or canoe, or get a ride upriver in a jet boat to islands and sand bars along the river 

  • Six (6) meeting points; choose the best for you:

    • 973 bridge

      • Easiest to pick up trash on foot along banks, best for kids

      • Put in at 973 bridge and float down to Austin's Colony, there will be jet boat traffic on this section

      • Or, put in at Texas River School and float down to 973 bridge

      • Texas Disposal Systems dumpster for trash

      • Section Leaders Brent Ormand (Brentormand@hotmail.com)

    • Austin's Colony Neighborhood Park

      • Clean up trash on foot along dirt cliffs

      • Or, jet boat can give you a ride a little ways up or down the river

      • More physically demanding to access river, but LOTS of trash

      • Utility trailer for trash collection

    • Little Webberville Park

      • May be closed on May 11 because Travis County is redoing the boat ramp

      • If open, put in here and float to Big Webberville Park (5 miles)

      • Jet boat put in

      • Adults can catch a ride in a jet boat upriver to cleanup islands and sandbars along river

      • Texas Disposal Systems dumpster for trash

      • Travis County maintains this park so it is not necessary to clean up on foot here

      • Jet boat put in

      • Trash from the Little Webberville to Big Webberville stretch will brought to Big Webberville

      • Float from Montopolis to Texas River School (about 4.25 miles)

      • Or, from Texas River School to the FM 973 bridge

      • Utility trailer for trash

      • Pick up on foot or float to Texas River School (about 4 miles)

      • Utility trailer for trash

  • Arrive whenever you can, meet section leaders to sign waiver, get bracelet. Section leader will provide trash grabbers, trash bags, and directions

  • We will have tons of trash bags and 100+ trash grabbers, or bring your own trash grabber to make sure you have one

  • Recommended:Gloves, hat, long sleeves and pants, sunscreen, and your reusable water bottle
